Incarceration by Eve at Brighton Arts Club

The Editor's Rant

Brighton Arts Club has become a center for new and rising talent across the creative arts whilst retaining underground and cult status. Partly the reason we have achieved this is because we keep everything free or greatly subsidised by Goddamn Media who offer a lot of free photography and film making to everyone we work with. Part of our manifesto here at BAC is that by avoiding budgets, costs, charges etc we are free of financial agenda which allows us the creativity we are so far enjoying. I am committed to keeping the gigs free and the studio spaces subsidised at a cost which covers really only the water. In return we at least expect good relations, professionalism, honesty, freedom of pr, a shout out, a big up, and if you use my building, for the people you bring into it not to abuse it and if you say we will be credited on a video you make here, free of charge (even if the video is rubbish), we will actually get that credit. 99% of all business, paid or not, is about trust......failure to abide by the most simple and reasonable obligations will be remembered and shared.

What's On this week at BAC Brighton Arts ClubListings

Last night's Common Tongues gig really kick started the week for us in such an energised way. Even torrential rain didn't stop the throngs of happy visitors. And Saturday's dub club was our best so far and really put the team on the map........photos are on their way!!!!!

Now this week we have even more amazing stuff happening so get yourselves down to London Road where all the action occurs. The Portas Project will be running 5 live installations/performances over the Christmas period so our streets are really going to gain some creative attention....and well deserved it is because these mean streets are where the talent bubbles understated but armed for take over.

Our first year birthday is causing quite a stir too as we have around 20 participants on the 22nd November to celebrate our year in the area.

BAC Birthday Party Invite

Everyone is welcome and if you fancy performing get in touch as the event will probably be a late one with no holes barred!

This week events at Brighton Arts Club (BAC)

A busy week ahead as we make preparations for the Brighton Dub Club on Friday on Saturday and Buba Sing Song who are really making waves on the scene. I have a free Friday this week if anyone wants it for a gig at short notice or a party which is only a £50 hire fee. Open Mic of course on Thursday promises all the usual creative fervour of BAC in literary form. Pasha will be painting and editing shots for the birthday party on the 22nd so the shutters will be down as the show will premier new pieces  ..........cancel all other obligations as the list of performers grows to an epic scale for this all nighter to celebrate all that we have done in our first year.
